Bio
Yasuyuki (Yas) Kojima is a native of Japan and has worked in the real estate industry for more than 35 years. He is bilingual and bicultural and possesses extensive knowledge of both U.S. and Japanese real estate and financial practices. He joined CBRE in 2010 and has completed hotel, golf course, industrial, retail and multi-family transactions. He covers local Hawaii, U.S. mainland and Japanese investors and was the top producer for CBRE Hawaii in 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2022. Mr. Kojima’s career includes experience in both the United States and Japan. Prior to joining CBRE, he was Managing Director and head of business development for Morgan Stanley Japan’s Investment Banking Division, focusing on Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds (MSREF) in Tokyo. During his nine years with Morgan Stanley, Mr. Kojima initiated many of the largest, most complex, and highest-profile real estate transactions in Japan and completed acquisitions of $9.6 billon. Before joining Morgan Stanley Japan in 2000, Mr. Kojima spent 11 years as Vice President, and later Chief Financial Officer, of Haseko (USA) Corporation in Los Angeles, California. Haseko is Japan’s largest condominium construction firm and a Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed company. As CFO, Mr. Kojima oversaw financial operations and investment strategies for Haseko (USA)’s offices in New York, California and Hawaii.
