William T. (Bill) Adams is President of Adams, REALTORS, an Atlanta based commercial and residential real estate company. He is an Atlanta native with an over 50-year history of involvement in neighborhood, historic preservation, affordable housing, and active and passive recreation issues.
Adams currently serves as the Board Chair of the Capitol Hill Neighborhood Development Corporation and the Treasurer of the City of Decatur’s Land Trust Board. He is a Past Chair and serves on the Government Affairs Committee of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors. Adams serves as the Immediate Past Chair of the CCIM Institute’s Governance Committee and is the Chair of the Institute’s Leadership Development Subcommittee. He is a member of the Government Affairs Committee of the Realtors Land Institute.
Adams has a BBA in Real Estate and an MBA in Finance from Georgia State University. He holds the prestigious CCIM designation from The CCIM Institute, the ALC designation from the Realtors Land Institute and the CRB designation from the Real Estate Business Institute, all affiliates of the National Association of Realtors. Adams is on the Honorary Board of Georgia State University’s Department of Real Estate and is a member of the Urban Land Institute’s Atlanta Chapter.
Adams began his real estate career in 1972 with Cousins Properties, Inc. after serving two years’ active duty as an Army officer. He formed Adams Realtors in 1979. His clients include urban infill developers, not for profit organizations, local governments, and small business owners.
Adams has been a youth soccer coach with the Atlanta Youth Soccer Association (AYSA), now known as Inter Atlanta Soccer Club, and in late 2003 helped AYSA acquire land for the first ever intown Atlanta soccer complex. He has coached baseball and basketball with the Decatur Recreation Department. An avid runner, he has run two marathons, twenty-five half marathons and forty-nine consecutive Peachtree Road Races. Adams is a member of the 2003 class of Leadership Atlanta. In 2017, he was named a City of Decatur Hometown Hero for his volunteer work in the community. He lives in Decatur, Georgia with his wife, Carol. They have two adult sons.
