Bio
Troy has 20 years of experience in financial services experience including commercial real estate fund management, debt origination, investment sales brokerage, and public accounting. Over the course of his commercial real estate career, Troy has been involved in over $2 billion of transactions. Mr. Ellis currently serves as a Director at The Net Lease Group focusing on investment sales. Prior to joining The Net Lease Group, Troy was a Senior Director at TowerPoint Capital, where he was a top-five originator acquiring interests in cellular ground leases. Troy was in the debt origination group with Voya Investment Management (formerly ING) and was involved in institutional transactions for clients such as First Industrial, Industrial Income Trust (IIT), CBRE REIT, Northwood Investors, Mirvac, Agellan Commercial REIT, Summit Hotel Properties, TMI Hospitality, and Sunstone Hotel Investors, to name a few. In addition, Troy was involved in CMBS loan origination for Voya’s Wall Street conduit partners Barclays Capital and Credit Suisse. At Voya, Troy also served as a portfolio manager for a high-yield commercial real estate fund with capital commitments of $250,000,000. Troy’s professional background also includes commercial real estate investment sales for NAI Brannen & Goddard and Marcus & Millichap. Prior to entering the commercial real estate industry, Troy was an accountant with ExxonMobil’s exploration and development company, where he served as an internal auditor for global operations, and he worked in public accounting for PwC at offices in the United Kingdom, Atlanta, GA, and Houston, TX.
Education
Troy earned his MBA in finance and BBA in accounting from the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. Troy was involved in two academic honor societies: Golden Key Honor Society (graduate school), and Beta Alpha Psi.
