Bio
Local contractor and businessman Tom Oberholtzer brings experience as a homebuilder and developer to every commercial real estate transaction. At the age of 23 in 1998, after three years of working for a local general contractor, Tom wasted no time in testing the business waters – he obtained a Virginia Class A Builders License and started Oberholtzer Construction, Inc. With his team of three to nine employees, Tom built custom homes and light commercial buildings throughout the Shenandoah Valley. In 2003, he bought two acres and developed a complex of five duplexes which he managed and rented until he sold them in 2007. He later developed a seven-acre property along I-81 into Stow Away Self Storage, LLC, a Class A, 375-unit facility with U-Haul, which he eventually sold after nine years of successful management. Originally from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Tom moved to Virginia years ago to attend Eastern Mennonite University and marry his wife, Denise, an oncology nurse at the UVA Cancer Center Augusta. They currently live with their two children in Penn Laird and worship at Ridgeway Mennonite Church, in Harrisonburg.
