Tom first refined his skills as a tenant representative with Leopold Property Consultants and Staubach (formerly the Leonard McKeague Group) before moving on to become President and founding partner of Bermuda-based Belmont Manor Properties Ltd, and President and founding partner of Montreal-based Real Estate Factory. He initiated and coordinated the move to join Avison Young. Tom was also the founder and owner of an entrepreneurial business incubator offering start-ups turnkey financing, advice and office resources. Tom continues to advise on a select basis, entrepreneurs in the early stages of their business development. Tom has extensive experience with US/Canada cross border sales, acquisitions and dispositions and has developed a corporate portfolio management, execution and strategic planning practice for Fortune 100 Canadian Companies. Tom advises institutional investors, private family corporate trusts and major users of office and industrial spaces. Thanks to a very creative yet practical personality, Tom is often asked to advise on the pre-development planning of value-add real estate projects. As an active community volunteer, Tom is a member of the Prostate Cancer Canada Board of Directors, the Constance-Lethbridge Board of Directors and of the Dobson-Lagassé Entrepreneurship Centre Board of Directors. He has also participated in various fundraising efforts, most notably as President of the Constance-Lethbridge foundation and most recently as leader in the Greater Montreal area for Bishop’s University Leading the Way, Capital Campaign. As an accredited expert, Tom is frequently invited to speak at the Montreal and Quebec City Real Estate Forums, on issues regarding commercial real estate. He has also been a member of the executive committee for the Urban Development Institute of Quebec.
