Tom Aycock serves specializes in the sale of shopping centers and single tenant retail properties. In addition to representation of property owners and investors active in San Diego County and other California markets, he also works across state boundaries. With a thorough, detailed, reliable, and persistent approach to his work, and supported by an extensive, sophisticated, computerized database of properties and investors, his objective is to provide the highest level of professionalism and client service, and to insure achievement of client goals.
Aycock specializes in investment property sales and investor representation, and has handled major sales transactions in California and other states, including complex 1031 Exchanges with simultaneous closings. He has also practiced real estate law as a licensed California attorney, and represented non-brokerage clients in commercial real estate transactions.
Aycock also previously served as Vice President with CB Commercial (now CB Richard Ellis), initially for seven years focusing on shopping center leasing, and then for ten years specializing in investment property sales. During two of those later years, he ranked first among their investment property sales specialists in San Diego County, and brokered several of the largest investment property sales in San Diego County.
Aycock holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation. He was 1995 President of the San Diego CCIM Chapter, and 1996 Chapter “Designee of the Year.” And for eight years, he organized, chaired and moderated “The Forecast” for San Diego Commercial and Investment Real Estate, which involved presentations by many nationally recognized real estate experts, institutions, owners, and investors, and which grew to an attendance of over four hundred commercial developers, lenders, brokers, and investors.
Aycock received a JD degree from the University of San Diego evening law program while working full time, and received the prestigious AmJur Awards in Business Planning and in Remedies. Although an inactive member of the California Bar, in order to avoid and prevent any potential conflict of interest, he does not provide legal advice, legal opinion, or legal services for brokerage clients, and now focuses entirely on brokerage work.
Aycock also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. Prior to his over thirty years in commercial real estate, he worked for a national CPA firm as a management consultant, and a Fortune 500 Corporation in corporate headquarters staff positions in strategic planning and financial analysis. He also has extensive work experience in direct mail marketing.
For calendar year 2011, Aycock was a member the SVN Partner’s Circle, ranking first among all SVN agents in southern California, and ranking thirteenth (upper two percent) among the over 800 SVN’s agents nationally.
