Bio
Todd Kilgore moved to Pittsburgh in 2006 to be closer to his family in Northeast Ohio. He sought outgrowing urban centers in the Midwest and East that had the allure of cultural events, but also had the flair for an outdoor enthusiast. After a great deal of research, Pittsburgh had all the elements for livability but also had the prospects for raising a new family. Upon arriving, Todd became active in the non-profit outdoor group, Venture Outdoors. He became a volunteer trip leader and on June 5, 2010, he along with fourteen hundred plus kayakers became Guinness Book of World Records holders at that year’s World Environment Day for the largest flotilla of kayaks in the world. In addition to the love of outdoors, he shares a fondness for urban living. He was a board member for the Downtown Neighborhood Association. He has always felt that the urban core should be a welcoming area for families. With a degree in English from Wittenberg University, Todd sought to use this communications background in sales and business development. With early success in the business-to-business model and after a personal project to bring to life an abandoned home in the Mexican War Streets neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Todd decided to combine those skills and become a licensed Realtor® in 2015. You can learn about his project on Rick Sebak’s 25 Things I Like about Pittsburgh which is shown frequently on WQED in Pittsburgh. Today, Todd and his wife Jennifer are raising Greta to enjoy the diversity and cultural institutions that Pittsburgh and the Northside have to offer. As a family, they devote time to promoting the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh recently voted as a Top 5 Children’s Museum in the country.
