In this pivotal role of company President, Mr. Hanna directs the management of all company operations and strategic opportunities. Mr. Hanna’s leads the strategic planning and execution of the Harvey Hanna companies. Under the leadership of company Chairman, Thom Harvey, Mr. Hanna has directed the company’s portfolio growth from a modest 30,000 square feet of total space in 1996 to its current scale of over 6 million square feet of space. Mr. Hanna has orchestrated hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of leasing, institutional financing, redevelopment and acquisitions over the span of over two decades. Of note, the Harvey Hanna companies experienced in excess of 1.5 million square feet of lease renewals between 2009 and 2014, during which period the company maintained a 97.8% occupancy rate. In 2008, Mr. Hanna created and established the Delaware KIDS Fund, a Harvey Hanna sponsored 501-c-3 non-profit charitable organization designed to assist local area Kids in Distressed Situations. For many years, Mr. Hanna also loaned his expertise to the Centreville School’s annual capital campaign, and he helped advise this institution, a school for kids with learning differences. Currently, Mr. Hanna sits on the Board of Directors at New Horizons (formerly Blackfeather Academy), and most recently retired as an original board member of the Newport Rowing Club, both local youth-based non-profit organizations. Mr. Hanna receives a great deal of enjoyment from his coaching of countless youth sports teams. In 2011, Mr. Hanna was awarded The 2011 Entrepreneur of The Year by New Castle County Chamber of Commerce. He sits on the Delaware Council for ULI and is a Board Member of the Wilmington Renaissance Corporation. Prior to joining Harvey Hanna, Mr. Hanna held various management and administrative positions with various Harvey solid waste enterprises. Mr. Hanna left USA Waste, Inc., later Waste Management Inc., (formerly Harvey & Harvey, Inc.) in 1998 to professionalize and facilitate growth in the Harvey real estate companies.
