Bio
50 years of commercial real estate experience beginning in real estate banking in Philadelphia in 1970. Moved to Baltimore in 1980 to manage real estate finance operations for what was then the second largest bank in the State. Then moved to Nashville in 1989 to manage similar operation for Third National Bank (subsequently SunTrust). Departed the banking world in 2001 to become Managing Director of CBRE Nashville office, retiring from that position at the end of 2014. Revenue during my tenure increased more than tenfold, making CBRE at the time the largest commercial real estate brokerage firm by volume in the State.
Market Knowledge
30 years of market experience in Tennessee has provided a wealth of connections with state, community and corporate leaders, with deep roots among active real estate investors, developers, contractors and the brokerage community. Brought many new brokers and relationships into the CBRE office while there. Held real estate licenses in five states.
Market Activity
Following retirement, decided I had more left in the tank and joined Baker Storey McDonald Properties in order to share experience with those in need of counseling on real estate matters from someone who has navigated decades of market tops and bottoms. Successfully completed sales or leases of several vacant QSR buildings, including former Logan’s, Captain D’s and Arby’s. Negotiated multiple leases on behalf of landlord of the Parkside Center in Murfreesboro, TN, notable among them Climb Murfreesboro, Primrose Table and Raintree Salon. Have sold industrial zoned land, represented a commercial lighting company in the purchase of new headquarters building and performed construction management function and assembly of design/construction team for addition of warehouse facility adjacent to the office building.
