Susan spent her childhood on the beaches of Florida. In 1989 she finished high school and moved west to Colorado in search of adventure and education and has been here ever since. While in college, she spent her summers in Salida and Buena Vista as a river guide and kayak instructor. After graduating from college, she traveled to Central America to lead adventure travel trips, where she met her husband, Zack. When it came time to put down roots, she decided on Salida and bought her first home. It wasn’t a hard decision. Where else can you find a great community, incredible mountains, and endless outdoor recreation? She has lived in many mountain towns around Colorado, like Crested Butte, Breckenridge, and Durango, but found Salida the absolute perfect spot and has called it home now for over 25 years. Coupling a passion for real estate investment with her sales experience, it almost seemed that real estate was an obvious and inevitable career choice for her. When she can help people find the property that fits their needs and desires, it is incredibly rewarding.
For the past 20 years, she has been a full-time Realtor in Salida and has consistently been a top-producing agent. She strongly believes Chaffee County has some of the best Realtors in Colorado and has been grateful to work side by side with them over the years. In 2009, she became the owner of Pinon Real Estate Group where she enjoys not only working with clients but also counseling and leading her team of real estate professionals. She values getting involved in one’s community and has volunteered over the years with many local organizations. She currently supports Salida Mountain Trails (SMT). In 2011 she was named Realtor of the Year by her fellow Realtors. Today she balances mountain biking and river time with being a full-time realtor, business owner, and mother to her two daughters Izzy (14 years) & Maggie (10 years).
