Steven J. O’Malley joined CBRE in 2013 as a Senior Vice President upon the sale of Fameco Real Estate, L.P., the Philadelphia region’s leading retail brokerage firm specializing in retail real estate and the shopping center industry. Steven joined Fameco Real Estate, L.P. in 1998 and was a Principal in the firm.
Steve has 27 years of experience in retail and commercial brokerage. His expertise includes tenant representation for retailers ranging in size up to 130,000 square feet; land acquisition for retailers and retail developers; anchor tenant leasing and owner representation. As an owner agent, Steve has successfully represented owners and developers in both the leasing and disposition of assets ranging from freestanding buildings to community centers and power centers.
Steve is one of the most active land brokers in the Philadelphia market having sold over 800 acres of land in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, including the sale of the 230 acre Garden State Race Track, the largest retail sale transaction in 2004. Steve was the exclusive landlord leasing representative for a number of major retail developments throughout the region including the Market Place at Garden State Park, a +/- 530,000 SF retail center anchored by Home Depot, Wegmans, Christmas Tree Shops, Best Buy and Dick’s. In October of 2006, this center received the prestigious Retail Deal of the Year Award by the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Steve has negotiated more than 700 sale/lease transactions totaling more than 12,000,000 square feet. His credits include a number of successful multi-store expansion programs for retailers such as Target, Kohl's, Giant (Landover), Best Buy and Ulta Cosmetics. Other tenant representation assignments are highlighted by retailers such as Home Depot, Acme and TJ Maxx.
Currently, Steve also represents The Home Depot in the disposition of three assets totaling over 300,000 square feet. Prior to joining Fameco, Steve spent ten years as a Vice President at Metro Commercial Real Estate. ?
