Bio
Steven E. Evans is the Director of Commercial Leasing at Platinum Properties’ Financial District and Midtown West offices. Evans, 30, a long-time resident of Bronxville, NY, spent a majority of his youth discovering the wonders of New York City. “The mere presence of this city’s monstrous buildings made me want to explore it further,” he said. A graduate of Marist College, where he pursued several jobs in finance, Evans began his career in wealth management solutions with Prudential. In this position, he spent three years advising clients on investments and financial planning. Eventually, in March 2008, Evans joined Platinum Properties’ team as a licensed real estate salesperson, who specialized in the offerings of office and retail leases and closed on deals worth over $7,000,000. “Walking through Manhattan’s streets every day, I cannot help but want to do my part in piecing it together, especially with retail spaces,” noted Evans. “It is extremely fulfilling to visit an establishment that you help to put into business.” Now, having spent time on increasingly sizeable projects, such as requirements of 10,000 to 20,000 square feet, the four-year real estate veteran has earned the highly coveted responsibility of overseeing a majority of commercial lease transactions that occur at Platinum Properties. Evans’ duties also consist of assisting and training agents who are less experienced on the commercial aspects of the business until they become experts in the field. “In my perspective, Platinum has evolved into a more holistic brand – we have grown into a complete full-service brokerage firm,” said Evans. “We now have a greater focus on commercial leasing, as well as the higher-end residential landscape.” While Evans’ work involves interacting with tenants – which off late includes a variety of restaurants and gyms – his primary priority is his clients’ needs. “This industry is based on relationships and service and our clients need to feel that we are mindful of their best interest at all times,” he explained. Looking to the future, Evans, a leader by example, is keen to make every effort to ensure that Platinum’s commercial division, on both the leasing and sales side, continues to grow. He’d also like to mentor and increase the number of agents who are actively involved with the company’s commercial transactions. Always mindful of giving back to society, Evans has been closely involved with the All Stars Project, a foundation benefiting underprivileged youth, where he spends time educating the less fortunate youth of Manhattan. A hardcore fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants, Evans also enjoys the outdoors and working out.
