Steve Merkle serves as Vice Chairman of Newmark’s Retail Property Services. Merkle joined Newmark from Open Realty Advisors, an esteemed global retail commercial real estate firm acquired by Newmark in 2022. Merkle, working alongside Chairman of Global Retail, Mark Masinter, plays a leading national role in retail tenant advisory, executing financial projections and analyses to implement growth and investment strategies for highly esteemed clients in major retail markets.
Prior to joining Newmark, Merkle served as a Managing Member for Open Realty Advisors, where he advised various noteable retailers managing initial growth and implementing cost savings initiatives. Merkle consulted lululemon, Apple, RH, Michael Kors and Tesla in site selection, market analysis and lease negotiation.
