Bio
Steven Farrell is the Owner and Broker of Classic Properties. Under his leadership, Farrell has strategically grown the firm from its original two offices and 17 agents to its current size of four strategically located offices with more than 137 sales associates and 20 staff throughout Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, the Poconos; and Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Wayne, Susquehanna, Wyoming and Monroe counties. In 2022, the company closed 1,322 transactions for $306M in closed dollar volume. Over the last ten years, Classic Properties has been consistently recognized by Real Trends and The Wall Street Journal as one of the nation’s “Largest Privately Owned Independents” and part of Real Estate Magazine’s “Top Power Broker Firms.” Farrell has been an active real estate broker for more than three decades. He started his career as an agent in Binghamton, New York, before acquiring Classic Properties in 2003. His vision for the company was to be a regional brokerage firm servicing the vast landscape of Northeastern Pennsylvania. As a result of his vision, Classic became the first firm ever to have a dominant market presence in the entire region. Farrell is a member of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World mastermind group, FM Partners, and was also a member of Leading RE’s “Young Guns” advisory team. He is also a housing consultant for Northeast Pennsylvania’s The Institute for Public Policy and Economic Development, and a member of the Board of Trustees for Moses Taylor Hospital/Commonwealth Health. He and the company are active supporters of NeighborWorks, a regional organization that revitalizes neighborhoods and creates opportunities for individuals and families to improve their lives through quality housing and financial guidance. Among other sponsorships, Steve is also an annual supporter of numerous sports teams for children across the region. Farrell resides in Waverly with his two young sons. He is a member of Glenmaura National Golf Club and the Country Club of Scranton and is on the Board of the LIFE (Lackawanna Industrial Fund Enterprises) Incorporators. He is a graduate of the Canterbury School, New Milford, CT, and Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business, NYC.
