Bio
Sherrie and her husband/partner, Dane Faber founded First California Realty, Inc. in 2003. Sherrie has been Sausalito's No. 1 Realtor, with the most residential real estate sales (per BAREIS MLS) for the past 20 years (by over $100 million dollars). Clearly her clients understand the appeal of working with a sophisticated boutique real estate firm with abundant local knowledge!
The youngest of five children, Sherrie was born and raised in Maryland and Virginia and attended University of Maryland School of Music prior to moving to San Francisco in 1981. Sherrie started her career in real estate in 1999 under the careful tutelage of Peg Copple, a Sausalito real estate legend. Getting in-depth knowledge from one of the best in the industry is part of her success. Prior to gaining her real estate license, Sherrie and her husband had bought and sold more than 15 residential and commercial properties, giving her extensive knowledge from a Principal’s perspective.
Sherrie is well known for her focused personal attention while handling transactions at the highest level. Her discerning clients appreciate and rely on her ability to manage demanding and sensitive deals with the utmost integrity, discretion, and professionalism. In fact, many transactions are handled off-market. She prides herself on the ability to run her business almost exclusively on referrals, and has cultivated an extensive network of highly qualified buyers, service providers and exceptional properties in all levels of the market.
Active in the community, she has served on the Board of Directors- Sausalito Chamber of Commerce (member since 1989) and is a past Board member of the Willow Creek Academy Foundation (Sausalito’s prestigious public Charter School) and regular Fundraiser. She is the Sausalito Business of the Year honoree of 2007, Volunteer of the Year 2006 and is an active member of the Sausalito Woman’s Club, 2017 recipient of 1st Place Award –Sausalito Beautiful and the past President of the Sausalito Yacht Club Auxiliary. Sherrie continues to Chair multiple fundraisers annually for local non-profits, including Rising International, an organization that is near and dear to her.
To her real estate is more than just selling houses. It means creating connections-between buyer and agent, family and home, home and community.
Sherrie has been a member of Marin’s Top Agent Network (TAN) since 1991 and is consistently in the top 1% of the approximately 2000 member Marin Association of Realtors (MAR), top 5% in the State of California (CAR) and top 10% Nationally (NAR), for her dollar volume of residential sales.
She is one of the 16,000 real estate professionals in North America who have earned the SRES® (Senior Real Estate Specialist) designation by completing comprehensive courses in understanding the considerations, practical needs, and goals of real estate buyers and sellers aged 55 and older who are ready to relocate. The nationally recognized SRES® designation is designed to help clients save you thousands of dollars when buying or selling property. The equity in your property may be the most valuable asset you possess. The Team you create - legal, accounting, financial and real estate- are most critical to develop a specific plan that will give you peace of mind. Sherrie effectively manages a network of related independent service providers to cover all the bases, but her clients offer the best testimonials- “Sherrie is the most thorough and responsive agent we have ever known” is a common theme.
"I love this business and I love Marin County. Marin is a wonderfully diverse place to live with easy access to San Francisco. The people that desire Marin's lifestyle recognize just how special it is. Since every home and every transaction is unique, in this competitive marketplace, I believe it is very important to be a good listener and a sharp negotiator to be successful. I have to be organized, composed and focused at all times. I treat people the way I like to be treated. The foundation of my business is built on professionalism, honesty and integrity", Sherrie stated.
Moving to Sausalito a 2nd time in 1989, Sherrie and her husband Dane, continue to live, work and play in the “Little Willow” with their yellow Lab Willow (no coincidence) and their kitty Jazz. When she’s not selling real estate you’ll likely find her on their yacht, Black Swan; digging in her garden; hiking or playing her piano… Sherrie thoroughly enjoys everything that Marin County has to offer.
