Bio
Shawn Thomas has spent most of his life in the Upstate of South Carolina. He developed an interest in construction and real estate development as a child visiting construction sites with his father, an architect who worked with Fluor Daniel at the time. Shawn’s first year in Real Estate at 24 years old resulted in his buying and selling or assigning contracts on a very large number of properties. He has done a number of renovations since from small, single family homes, to renovations on waterfront properties on most of the lakes in South Carolina including Lake Bowen and Lake Keowee, to deep water properties in Charleston and on Hilton Head Island. He also works with many lenders on liquidating special assets, REO, and bank owned foreclosures. He has worked with many lenders over the last 10 years and has a proven track record for selling distressed properties quickly and cost effectively. He has lender clients who can attest to his performance on his ability to list and sell bank owned properties. His largest project to date was The Brio, formerly The Ramada Inn, a 144 room hotel on Church Street in Downtown Greenville, a quarter of a mile from Falls Park. With his vision and creativity, he saw the potential of Church Street before the redevelopment of the area was planned. The old hotel was gutted and reconstructed into 50 luxury condominiums. This project has put Shawn at the forefront of up-and-coming developers in the Greenville area and The Brio was given the 2007 Multi Family Revitalization Project of the Year Award for the Upstate by the Greater Greenville Association of Realtors. As the owner of New City Development and Real Estate, Shawn is driving the company’s mission to build relationships, drive progress, and improve lives. His passion is Real Estate Investment and his driving ambition is to help other people reach their Real Estate goals.
