Bio
Shawn’s strong work ethic comes from growing up on a dairy farm in NE Ohio. His passion for the restaurant business and education comes from his mother who taught food service and restaurant management. He started his first retail business in his early twenties. The business was an immediate success and he opened his second location a year later. He sold both businesses in 1989 and opened a sports-themed restaurant with the profits. In June of 1993, he sold the restaurant and later that year founded Sanborn and Company, Inc. and incorporated in 1994. In 1996 Shawn founded Buckeye Restaurant Concepts in order to purchase three underperforming Buffalo Wild Wings franchises. He sold the businesses in 1998 for a substantial profit. Shawn is also President of Shamrock Brewing Company, Inc., an award winning restaurant and brewery in Pueblo Colorado. He is also the Managing Member of Shawn Frederick, LLC a small real estate holding company in Denver. Shawn has successfully sold a wide variety of businesses from quick service to fine dining restaurants, neighborhood grills to nightclubs. He has assisted independent operators and national companies in site selection, leasing and real estate acquisitions. As managing broker he has been involved in over $10,000,000 in hotel properties and numerous liquor store businesses sold throughout Colorado. Shawn is an instructor for the International Business Brokers Association and teaches restaurant sales and valuation classes. He is a nationally recognized industry expert and has served as an expert witness in restaurant/bar business valuation and real estate related court cases.
