Bio
Ryan Wells serves as Asset Manager and Director of Development of REI Real Estate Services, LLC. In his role as Asset Manager he is responsible for the oversight of strategic planning, investment analysis, operation and marketing analysis, positioning of properties in the marketplace in accordance with market trends and conditions, understanding the owner’s objectives of their real estate plans and strategizing on the best approaches to maximizing the investment return of real estate assets.
As the Director of Development Ryan duties involve leading the Development Team with managing multiple phases of the real estate development process. He participates in all aspects of development including site selection, due diligence exploration, financial analysis, budgeting, contract negotiation, development consultant management, site acquisition, investment package creation, coordination of the permitting process, execution of the construction documents, and general contractor management.
Ryan has over a decade of real estate and banking experience. Prior to joining REI he was involved in the commercial real estate and banking industries in Chicago. After graduating from Purdue University with a Bachelors of Science in Management he worked as a commercial real estate appraiser. In his capacity as an appraiser, he completed appraisals on a variety of property types including land, industrial, office, retail, hospitality, mixed-use, and multi-family properties. More recently he worked in the banking industry with a focus on commercial real estate. Working on the origination side of the business he financed numerous land developments, retail centers, multi-family properties, office buildings, and condominium conversions. As the economy slipped into “the Great Recession” Ryan found a niche restructuring and working out distressed debt. Prior to joining REI, he spent the previous six years working out problem assets in the banking industry and most recently for the U.S. Small Business Administration.
