Bob Sutton is a Principal and Chief Investment Officer of Equity Investment Group, Inc. Since joining EIG in 1996, Mr. Sutton has been primarily responsible for all retail property acquisitions and dispositions, including nearly $2 billion in retail real estate transactions.
Since 2003, Mr. Sutton has also overseen all development, re-development, property management, and leasing activities for Equity Investment Group and its affiliated companies. Additionally, Mr. Sutton is responsible for cultivating and maintaining business relationships with buyers and sellers of retail real estate across the country, national and regional commercial brokers and brokerage firms, and national retail tenants in connection with the EIG retail portfolio business. Mr. Sutton led the retail real estate investment activities at EIG through its most dramatic period of growth, helping it grow into one of the largest private owner/managers of retail real estate in the United States, with offices in six states and 120 shopping centers nationwide with an aggregate of more than 15 million square feet. Today, under Mr. Sutton’s leadership, EIG continues to own and manage approximately four million square feet of neighborhood and community shopping centers across the United States.
Prior to joining EIG, Mr. Sutton spent five years as President of Sutton and Ramsey Real Estate & Brokerage, where he was responsible for all company real estate investment, brokerage, and land development throughout the Midwest.
Mr. Sutton holds a B.S. in Finance from Defiance College and an M.B.A. with Honors from Butler University.
