Richard Downey is SPQREA – Senior Vice President at CBRE in the Washington, DC, office specializing in tenant representation. Mr. Downey assists the Advisory and Transaction Services team in the day-to-day operations of the requirements development, acquisition and disposition of all real estate, specializing in market research, strategic planning, negotiations and document analysis and development. Mr. Downey has completed over $2.5 billion in transactions covering 6 million square feet since 2007. He has received the Washington region’s “Transaction of the Year” award three times for the successful representation of tenants in particularly noteworthy assignments. Mr. Downey joined CBRE in 2007 as a landlord representative in the Northern Virginia market. His role included the research, coordination, creation, and implementation of marketing plans specific to each client and property represented. In 2010, Mr. Downey began exclusively representing occupier clients. His diverse experience includes office, warehouse, flex, laboratory, data centers, detention facilities, medical facilities and training facilities. Having represented both owners and occupiers in numerous different space types, Mr. Downey understands first-hand the financial and strategic goals and objectives opposing parties bring to a real estate transaction.
