Bio
Richard qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1995 and has specialised in retail property since 1996. Whilst he has been based in Bristol for most of his career he operates on a UK-wide basis and has advised on transactions from Haverfordwest to Norwich, Edinburgh to Penzance and most of the towns and cities in-between.
Richard has worked on the sale, purchase and funding of; shops, supermarkets, shopping centres, retail warehousing, portfolios and leisure investments. He also advises clients on asset management, redevelopment and portfolio strategy and has acted as an Expert Witness on legal disputes involving retail investments. His clients range from; UK institutions, overseas investors, property companies and private investors. Recent transactions he has advised on include; sale of a prime investments in Bristol and Kingston for Legal & General (£12m), purchase of a prime block in Kingston for Amsprop (£20m), purchase and sale of individual retail investments in Guildford, Brighton and Maidenhead for Threadneedle (£15m), sale of individual retail investments in Bristol, Truro, Bath, Swindon, Cheltenham, Exmouth and Newquay for CBRE Global Investors (£35m), purchase of a prime block in Hammersmith for Patrizia (£21.4m), purchase of a mixed leisure investment in Plymouth for Plymouth City Council (£17.25m)
Prior to joining Fawcett Mead, Richard was as a Director in the National Retail Investment Department at JLL, whom he joined following their merger with King Sturge, where he was an Equity Partner.
Richard lives in Gloucestershire and is married with 3 children. He is a keen triathlete and has represented Great Britain at age group level. His other sporting passions are Gloucester Rugby and Forest Green Rovers FC.
