Bio
Phil is from Boulder, Colorado. He was first licensed as a real estate broker by the State of Colorado in 1982. He had just returned from college in Oregon where he graduated with degrees in Business Administration and Foreign Languages. While in school, he also worked as a part time market research coordinator for Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Services Company (Today called CBRE). While there, he developed a keen appreciation for the facts and the detail required to truly understand and operate in the Commercial Real Estate Business. It was also where he decided that commercial real estate was the business he would choose as his career going forward.
Upon returning to the Denver area, Phil joined the Grubb & Ellis Company (known today as Newmark Grubb Knight Frank) where he specialized in the light industrial/flex markets of Northeast Denver. As a very young man, he built his reputation and qualifications while selling and leasing a number of land listings, build to suit and multi-tenant flex projects. After several years, he shifted his emphasis to the office market in order to work closer to his new family in the Southeast Suburbs of Denver.
During the late eighties and nineties, Phil became a major force in the Tech Center/Greenwood Plaza Market with his appointment to Chevron’s new building at Arapahoe Road and I-25. While at Chevron, he broadened his knowledge in corporate facilities management, construction and investment brokerage. After successfully repositioning Chevron’s building to multi-tenant use, he was given the opportunity to work within a listing team to sell the building. The sale was consummated and Phil was given the role of General Manager by it’s new owner. This is where his skills were again expanded to include the Property Management function. He lead a team of six and administered a multi-million dollar budget while serving the needs of over 1,000 employees.
In 1996, Phil and his family embarked on an adventure. He left the industry to pursue a life dream. He, his wife and two sons, moved aboard S/V Columbine, a 38 foot sailboat. As a family, they travelled from New England to South America and back while home schooling the boys. After 15,000 miles and three years, Phil and his family settled in St Thomas, USVI where he worked as a marine electrical engineer, captain and band leader.
He now lives in his hometown of Boulder, Colorado where he’s focused on his own real estate services company. After all the years of brokerage, management, construction, he offers his clients a unique and revolutionary approach to the business.
