Bio
Quantum Property Advisors is led by Norm Herd, a 30-year veteran of the commercial real estate business. The firm specializes in identifying lucrative real estate investment opportunities in the rapidly growing self-storage industry, including new development sites and existing facilities. Quantum also helps investors acquire land for new development in the multifamily and hospitality sectors.
As president of Quantum Property Advisors, Norm draws on over three decades of experience in commercial real estate and applies deep industry-specific knowledge to help his clients meet their investment objectives. He combines a background in architecture and construction with extensive real estate brokerage experience to take a uniquely holistic approach to helping each client achieve their goals.
Norm’s efforts go far beyond real estate brokerage – encompassing high-value services such as working on challenging rezoning cases, assisting clients in selecting architects and contractors, conducting market feasibility studies, and performing financial analysis and underwriting. His career has afforded him the opportunity to work with leading organizations nationally, including Public Storage, US Storage Centers, SmartStop, La Quinta Inns, Drury Hotels Inc., Toyota Motors, Bechtel Corp., Gannett Corp., Johnson Wax and many more.
Prior to founding Quantum Property Advisors in 2016, Norm co-founded Empire Commercial Real Estate, a boutique brokerage firm focused on buyer representation. Before entering the real estate brokerage field, he was a principal with Lendrum Associates Architecture & Planning, one of Arizona’s largest and most influential design firms, and led the business development efforts of a nationally recognized construction subcontractor. He holds a certification in Real Estate and Hotel Investment from Cornell University and a certification in Hotel Real Estate and Asset Management from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. Norm places a high value on community service, as evidenced by his active role in civic, professional and philanthropic organizations. He served on the Pacific Rim Advisory Council and the Arizona-Mexico Commission and is a Past Active member of the Scottsdale 20/30 Club, which raises funds to support children’s charities. He has strong roots in the western US, having lived in San Francisco and Seattle before settling in the Valley of the Sun in 1984.
