Bio
I am a Realtor & Mortgage Broker with 30 years of experience in the business. I established Douglas & Moore Real Estate Inc. with my husband & Associate, Donald Douglas. In establishing our business, our intention was to meet our client’s residential real estate and financing needs in one package. The business has evolved so much over the years turning so many of our clients into longtime friends and their children and at times grand children into clients! Our business is currently Residential and Commercial Real Estate, Property Management and Staging.

As a child, I grew up in Cairo, Egypt. My fondest memories were of my large, loving and giving family, of carefree summer holidays, white sandy beaches and the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea. It cultivated a deep love and respect for the beauty and the power of the sea, the sun and nature.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature, a Management Diploma, a Master’s degree in Management Information Systems and Computers from the American University of Cairo. I studied for a PhD. in Business Administration with a major in Marketing at Bernard Baruch College in New York. I taught Marketing, Marketing Research, Consumer Behavior and Advertising at the City University of New York and Bernard Baruch College.

One of the disciplines that defined me was Management information systems, I was taught very early on to design systems and write programs for computers. That has served me well throughout my life. With structure and a sound system, I found that things fell into place smoothly.

I moved to California from New York in the mid 80’s and went into Mortgage Banking, Retail Lending, and Real Estate. I was always single minded, so establishing my own business seemed the natural progression of things. Over the years, I found joy in being an independent realtor, having and running my own business. It afforded me the luxury to choose what I do, morph with situations, think out of the box and extend more to my clients without holding back.

What I am quite proud of is that when I was actually run over by a tram ...I astonished myself with my own resilience and self-discipline ... years later ... I still maintain my daily physical therapy routine. I did not let it stop me ... I kept going. I re-invented myself and how I did business to accommodate how I moved.
I was fined at Rotary for being referenced in the Wall Street Journal among the top 200 realtors in the nation.

Over the years, I polished my negotiation skills, am known for my discretion and have several real estate Meditations under my belt including a family feud! I was President of Palo Alto Central Commercial Association for five years and was instrumental in settling several litigations, getting the commercial owners together and rezoning the Palo Alto Central Commercial Complex.

I have also always been civic minded. I grew up watching my mother and grandmother doing charity work. So while in San Francisco, some 30 years ago, I joined the San Francisco Rotary club & when I moved to the Peninsula, I joined the Palo Alto Rotary club & the Palo Alto Woman's Club.

In my more than 20 years of membership in the Palo Alto Rotary Club, I have always been active & chaired one committee or other, participated in the first Fund raiser for the Palo Alto Rotary Endowment Fund, participated in the Wheel chair foundation event, feeding the homeless, hands on projects , was PR Chair then social Chair for ten years & chaired 15 Holiday events for the club.
