Nicole Alper began her career as a magazine editor and writer, working at Conde Nast Publications, and Fairchild Publications, in New York City. As the print industry declined, she moved towards healthcare, earning a Masters degree in school psychology. Nicole later sought out the field of commercial real estate, focusing on medical and office.
