Focused, dedicated and effective best describe Mona Hellinga's approach to real estate sales. Mona is an award-winning Realtor with a loyal, and continually expanding group of past and present clients. She considers it a privilege to work with clients as they buy and sell homes, condominiums, co-op apartments, vacant land and great estates.
A native of Illinois, Mona lived in the western suburbs before settling and raising her 2 children in Lake Forest. Building on previous experience as a sales executive and sales trainer with Harris/3M and Johnson & Johnson's Ethicon, Inc., she entered the real estate profession in 1995. Since then, she has become recognized for her expertise in the luxury home market along Chicago's North Shore communities including Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, Highland Park, Glencoe, Winnetka, Kenilworth, Wilmette & Evanston. She also enjoys selling in Chicago's Gold Coast (where she has a second residence) and Streeterville neighborhoods. Although her practice is based in northern Illinois, Mona also holds a Wisconsin real estate license to assist clients who may be looking for that special vacation home.
Mona has lectured on the subject of Selling Luxury Real Estate and has recently been quoted in Worth Magazine and North Shore Weekend news. She has also assisted in developing marketing materials for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago's luxury brand, Luxury Collection™.
In 2010, Mona accepted the position of VP/Managing Broker of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago's Lake Forest office. "I consider the management experience to be one of the highlights of my career. I was fortunate to work with an outstanding team of managers and brokers. The experience helped me to grow as a Realtor, enabling me to appreciate all aspects of the real estate business." However, in September 2013, Mona decided to resign as manager to dedicate 100% of her time to her first love, full-time sales.
Away from work, Mona enjoys traveling with her adult children and husband, Joe McCullough. She also has a keen interest in the arts, the Chicago sports scene, and cycling in Door County, Wisconsin.
