Michael R. Block joined Block Real Estate Services in 1979, became a Vice President of the company in 1986 and a Senior Vice President and Principal, in 1996.
In addition to earning the Certified Property Manager designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management in 1983, Michael was named in "Who's Who in Business in America" in 1985 and was designated a Certified Real Estate Appraiser by the National Association of Real Estate Appraisers in 1988.
Michael has been involved in over $125 million worth of sales, leasing, management and development of real estate. He has been a member of the Metropolitan Kansas City Board of Realtors’ Multi-Million Dollar Club, and is a Lifetime Member of the Missouri Association of Realtors’ Million Dollar Club. Michael has been actively involved with the hands-on management and construction for hundreds of thousands of square feet of commercial properties. He is also an active investor in commercial real estate and is the managing General Partner in several real estate partnerships.
Block is an active member of the National Association of Realtors, Missouri Association of Realtors, and Kansas City Metropolitan Board of Realtors and has served on its Ethics Committee and Community Service Committee. He has been involved with both the local and national chapters of the National Association of Real Estate Appraisers and the local and national chapters of the Institute of Real Estate Management. He has also participated in a number of civic organizations, including the Bacchus Foundation, the Avidus Foundation, the Kansas City Jazz Festival Committee and has been a Red Coater with the Kansas City Chiefs. Michael was actively involved with the operations of his previous housing subdivision, Hawthorne Valley, serving as the President of its Board of Directors from 1994 to 1996. Michael has also been acting President of the Hawthorne Valley Community Master Association, comprised of eight different subdivisions within the 215 acre Hawthorne Community at the southwest corner of 119th and Roe in Overland Park, Kansas.
