Bio
Mathieu graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Alberta in 1991 and has been practicing commercial real estate in Calgary since then. Mathieu has abundant experience in office and retail leasing and sales, in addition specializes in all manner of industrial leasing and sales including building and land development. Whether representing the owner of a property or a party selecting the right lease or sale option, Mathieu delivers a service where the principals follow and understand each step of the process allowing them to make quick, informed decisions along the way with confidence. Mathieu understands and respects that information, relationships and time may form more of a real estate transaction than the actual property, and strives to bring all of his experience to bear in each element. A founding partner in Calgary SMI Commercial Real Estate Limited, Mathieu continues to serve long-term relationships with many local clients as well as large, national and multi-national clients like Investors Group Real Property Fund, United Rentals and Bobcat Equipment, among many others. As Director – Special Projects, Mathieu loves to bring creative solutions to challenging real estate issues. Whether “up-valuing” cash-flow property into owner-user opportunities with lease termination or condominiumization, or coordinating transactions like lease-to-own or sale-leaseback. Mathieu uses his experience to manage each part of the marketing effort from market plan implementation and site selection to negotiation and financing. Also, with a keen understanding of today’s technology and implications for delivery of all services electronically, Mathieu can easily service out-of-town principals in a timely, secure and comprehensive manner.
