As Senior Vice President, San Francisco Managing Director, Markus holds a pivotal role in shaping the direction and growth of the San Francisco office. He is responsible for creating and implementing various strategic goals, leading divisional and sales meetings, and inspiring teams to top performance. Continually evaluating and reviewing our brokerage business practices, Markus updates, and develops processes to optimize the brokerage business by taking a proactive approach to identifying opportunities to further innovate and grow the business. In addition to his management responsibilities, he is also a broker who specializes in representing corporate tenants with their office real estate needs. This includes expansions, consolidations, contractions, terminations, relocations, acquisitions, dispositions, and restructuring of leases.
Markus has been active in the San Francisco commercial real estate market for more than 30 years, primarily focused on delivering solutions to tenants. Working as an advisor to his clients Markus has successfully closed over 500 transactions ranging from 4,000 to over 150,000 square feet. His services include every aspect from initial strategy, programming, financial modeling, and analysis, to term and lease negotiations and the supervision of lease compliance with all deliverables in place. He has represented a wide variety of corporate clients throughout the Bay Area and across the country. A select roster includes Nestle, Liberty Mutual, Compuware, Aechelon Technology, and California Medical Association. In addition to his expertise in tenant advisory services, Markus also provides creative marketing strategies, market evaluations, and strategic planning for the repositioning of properties to several owner clients.
Before joining TRI Commercial, Markus was Senior Vice President at Colliers International and Transwestern, and President of HC&M Commercial’s office division in San Francisco where he also served as a partner. Markus also served as managing director for Studley’s San Francisco office and senior vice president for BT Commercial’s office leasing division. In 2010, He launched a real estate consulting firm Square Four Real Estate, Inc. in San Francisco, where he developed and oversaw its tenant representation platform.
