Mark Windhager's 35-year journey in the residential apartment industry began with hands-on groundwork. Amidst his Texas A&M University days, Mark braved scorching Houston summers as a house framer, a job he humorously reminisces was "very hot." However, a turning point emerged during his senior year when an opportunity to work with an apartment developer captivated his interest, becoming the catalyst for his enduring passion. Following the completion of his MBA, Mark worked for Trammell Crow in Dallas, eventually spearheading their Denver office in 1992. His career path gained momentum alongside industry titans like Archstone and Legacy Partners before co-founding RedPeak in 2001. As CEO, he oversees assets exceeding $1 billion, yet his proudest achievement lies in nurturing a company supporting over 135 families. Mark firmly believes that RedPeak's success stems from its people, their unwavering commitment to upholding exceptional standards, and the vibrant, enjoyable work environment they've cultivated, setting the company apart in its industry. Beyond his corporate endeavors, Mark's active industry involvement includes presidencies at the Apartment Association of Metro Denver and the Colorado Apartment Association. Notably, in 2022, Mark initiated the Make Your Mark foundation, extending post-high school scholarships to underprivileged youth for trade schools as well as higher education. However, amidst his professional commitments, family remains the cornerstone of Mark's life. Whether on Breckenridge's slopes or traversing hiking trails, Mark finds solace in these moments, often accompanied by his wife and four adult children.
