Bio
1st U S Realty, Mark's newest business enterprise, follows decades of entrepreneurial accomplishments in commercial real estate development, multi-family construction, lending, finance and real estate brokerage. Founded in 2011, 1st US Realty offers a full range of real estate services in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island and Connecticut. In additional to his strong business background, Mark brings insight, creativity and keen analytical skills to his interactions while retaining his sense of perspective and humor. He focuses on using innovative advantages to create opportunities for his clients.
In 1994, Mark founded Sea Watch Realty, a commercial real estate company operating in southeastern Massachusetts, believing that an unshakable sense of decency coupled with an extensive business background were essential ingredients for success. Nine years later, Mark sold this company to pursue his lifelong passion for long distance sailing and subsequently sailed over 25,000 miles during a seven year adventure. Returning fully energized, he created his present real estate company, 1st U S Realty.
Mark began his real estate career with the development of 60 apartment units in Adams, MA. Using programs available through the FHA and Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency he constructed multifamily housing developments throughout Massachusetts. His firm's track record drew the attention of local banks who invited him to acquire and complete a number of previously failed condominium developments ranging from 30 to 70 acres. During this time he pioneered energy efficient construction techniques including the use of mixed insulation types to achieve reduced heat transfer and he successfully experimented with defensible space techniques. Developments included elevated buildings to town homes. His familiarity with construction and housing markets led to his lending builders short-term loans.
