Career Summary
Margaret McGovern joined the commercial real estate field in 1996, following a term as Mayor of Greenwood. She has represented buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants and developers as a licensed real estate broker in all types of commercial transactions.
Clients have included McDonalds, Ritters Frozen Custard, Summerfield Crossing, Red Roof Square, Lady Victoria s Restaurant, Los Tapatios Restaurant, Mexico City Grill, Kids Kloset, Bargersville Industrial Park, KOE Engineering, Forever Flowers, KYB Manufacturing, Ohio Properties, and many others.
Before joining KW Commercial in 2009, she had been a broker/associate at Leading Edge Commercial Real Estate, a retail specialist with Grubb & Ellis/Harding Dahm & Company and a broker associate with Prudential Dickson Hughes Commercial Services.
Public Service
Prior to her election as Mayor, Margaret was a member of the Greenwood City Council, the Greenwood Board of Zoning Appeals and the Greenwood Police Merit Commission. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Greenwood Senior Citizens Center.
Her professional affiliations include the National Association of Realtors (NAR), Indianapolis Metropolitan Board of Realtors (MIBOR), Indiana Association of Realtors (IAR), Indiana Commercial Board of Realtors (ICBR), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and Greenwood Chamber of Commerce.
Personal
Margaret lives in Greenwood with her husband, Phil McGovern, a retired attorney. They have two sons, Matt, an Indiana University graduate who is a police officer in Noblesville, Indiana, and Andy, a DePauw University graduate who works for Microsoft in Seattle. The McGoverns have two grandchildren.
