Bio
Louise Dawson has a background of over 20 years in the
hospitality industry. She was the chef-owner of two popular
restaurants and a large catering company that serviced
the movie industry as one of its largest clients. Louise is
trusted by her clients because she has personally
experienced every aspect of restaurant ownership, from
permits & build-out, to operations and through exit strategy.
After selling her last restaurant, Louise went on to help develop the restaurant
program for the San Francisco Small Business Development Center, an arm of the Small Business Administration. There, she helped develop a series of
restaurant seminars and provided one on one technical assistance to over 500 restaurants and specialty food retailers. Louise went on to launch her own business consultancy, Five Star Consultants, in 2006. Louise continues to provide one on one technical assistance and training to her business clients, prepare business plans, apply for loans and help her clients improve their operations. www.fivestarconsultants.net In 2009, Louise decided to obtain her real estate license in order to support her clients in navigating the complicated process of finding a perfect location, negotiating a lease, transferring a liquor license and buying/selling their businesses. With over 7 years of experience in San Francisco restaurant retail and over 20 years in the hospitality industry, Louise believes that she is the best choice for helping restaurant and bar owners to buy and sell their businesses.
Louise is a small business advocate and has worked closely with other
organizations such as the Office of Small Business and the San Francisco Small Business Commission, the Small Business Administration, the San Francisco Mexican Consulate, the Japanese Consulate, the Philippine Consulate and the cities of San Jose, Oakland, Los Altos, Mountain View, Cupertino, Hayward and others. She is a certified Business Advisor and in 2008 won congressional recognition from Nancy Pelosi for her work with small businesses.
