Since joining Savills in 1975, Lois Zambo has become one of the Washington, DC area’s most iconic brokers in commercial real estate. She is best recognized as the broker behind USA Today’s move to the DC area in the mid-1980s. She also assisted the Freedom Forum with the purchase of 6th & Pennsylvania Avenue to create a new DC home for the Newseum – a historic transaction that both The Washington Post and Washington Business Journal called the ‘Deal of the Century’. A veteran tenant representative, Lois has helped end-users of real estate including legal, nonprofit and corporate companies.
As an expert in her field, Lois is regularly quoted in real estate stories in top publications including Forbes, The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal and has often been invited to be a guest speaker for prestigious academic institutions and business organizations such as The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, National Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives, The Washington Business Congress and Commercial Real Estate for Women.

Over the course of her accomplished career, Lois has won many prestigious awards including several ‘Transaction of the Year’ awards and a ‘Realtor of the Year’ award from the Greater Washington Commercial Association of Realtors (GWCAR). In November 2007, she received the respected ‘Outstanding Impact Award’ from the DC chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW).
She has also been consistently recognized as one of the country’s top commercial real estate brokers by Commercial Property News and Grid Magazine. The Washington Business Journal also honored her as one of the region’s most influential businesswomen and has presented her with several distinguished awards for her real estate transactions including ‘Best Overall Deal of the Year’ and ‘Best Suburban Development’ awards.
