From a young age, Lester knew he wanted to work with dirt. His initial plan was to purchase a backhoe and get to work. His mother convinced him to think even bigger. After graduating high school early, Lester hit the road, working for a construction company pouring concrete golf cart paths in golf courses around the United States. He did this for two summers before deciding to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering at Texas A&M University. Upon graduation he began working as the project manager for then rapidly growing master-planned community, Cinco Ranch. The job didn’t come without challenges, in fact he was so young at the time that he wasn’t able to legally drive his own company car!
Entrepreneurial in spirit, being a business owner had always been a calling for him. Lester founded ALJ Lindsey in the height of the economic downturn of 2009, with the principles that starting a business when times are tough teaches you the value of relationships and doing things right. A little over a decade later, ALJ Lindsey has provided civil engineering and development consulting services for over 5000 development projects along the Gulf Coast with a client base ranging from Fortune 500 Companies to local developers and architects.
Lester is a proud recurring guest lecturer at Texas A&M University. He is also an avid white-water kayaker, hitting the rapids as often as possible. He loves the challenge, intensity and risk involved in the sport and that it allows him to be in nature, seeing new places and meeting new people.
