Leo Farrell has over 28 years of commercial real estate brokerage experience. Prior to joining Avison Young as Principal, Leo was a Managing Principal at another national company located in Islandia, New York for the past ten years. Previously, Leo was at a Manhattan-based commercial real estate company where he quickly advanced to Associate Broker and onto Managing Director during his nine years at the company. Consistently a top producer, his responsibilities included office and industrial leasing and sales as well as managing the firm's brokers and training new personnel. He was honored in 2018 as one of CoStar's top Industrial Leasing Power Brokers on Long Island, a title given to only eleven brokers in total. Throughout his career, Leo has continued to be one of the most prolific commercial brokers on Long Island specializing in office leasing, industrial and land leasing and sales, as well as build-to-suits. Leo has been instrumental in brokering the construction of over 25 buildings totaling over 1 million sq. ft. of space. He has represented national, as well as local customers and landlords throughout the commercial real estate community including: Teachers Federal Credit Union, Newsday, Quality King Distributors, Suffolk County, Bridgehampton National Bank, Rechler Equity Partners, Fairfield Properties, Walmart, People's United Bank, McDonald's, New York State, GSA, Marriott Hotels, Brookhaven Rail Terminal, Computer Associates, and Motorola. Leo's education and background in engineering has given him a multifaceted perspective into the most technical aspects of the commercial real estate industry. He has also worked closely with top developers, landlords, architects, lawyers, engineers, and government personnel throughout Long Island. Leo is a member of the Executive Board of the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society (CIBS). He is also a member the Long Island Business Development Council (LIBDC), and the Brookhaven Industrial Group Association (BIG). Leo resides in St. James, New York.
