Bio
Kent Pierce, a founding partner of Equity Commercial Real Estate Services, Inc., specializes the sale and leasing of Industrial, Office, Flex and R&D properties in Ventura County and the west San Fernando Valley. Kent's emphasis has been on the marketing of properties within the portfolios of local and regional investors and developers in Ventura County. Kent has over 30 years of experience in the commercial real estate business. He started his career with Grubb & Ellis in 1987, shortly after graduating from UC Santa Barbara. At Grubb & Ellis, Kent spent a year as the director of research for the Ventura County office and was responsible for the publication of quarterly and annual vacancy and absorption studies, press releases and the coordination of the annual conference and presentation to regional developers, property owners and institutions. After completing his time in the research department, Kent became an industrial properties specialist at Grubb & Ellis under the tutelage of a senior broker-and former longtime business partner-Jim Bilicki. Jim left Grubb & Ellis in 1992 to manage a small portfolio of properties. Kent remained with Grubb & Ellis until 1994 when Kent reunited with Jim to found Equity Commercial Real Estate Services. Kent's responsibilities with Equity Commercial since 1994 have included overseeing the brokerage operations of the firm. During that time period, Kent has completed over 500 industrial and office sales or leases. A few of Kent’s many noteworthy transactions include a 25,000 office lease with OmniUpdate, a 70,000 square foot industrial lease with Zume, a 15,000 square foot office lease in Camarillo to Pardee Homes, a long-term 20,000 square foot industrial lease with Underwood Ranches in Camarillo and 50,000 square foot lease with Conexant in Newbury Park. Kent prides himself on his commitment to ethics, professionalism and innovative marketing. Kent has been a member of the American Industrial Real Estate Association (AIR) since 1990. Kent and his wife Jeanene have two sons: Lucas (22) and Matthew (20). Kent is a Staff Commodore (past president) of the Santa Barbara Yacht Club, past president of the Santa Barbara Youth Foundation, and past president of the Cold Spring School Foundation. Kent's real passion for the sea comes in the form of sailboat racing. He has sailed boats as small as seven-foot Sabots and as large as 85-foot America's Cup Class (IACC) boats. In the 90's, Kent has sailed in many world, continental and national championships and has recently competed in the Transpac Race from Long Beach to Honolulu, Hawaii and the Bermuda Race from Newport, Rhode Island to Bermuda. Kent was the 2018 Melges 24 Corinthian (amateur) US National Champion.
