Kelly Sloan graduated from the William Allen White School of Journalism at the University of Kansas in 1990, moved to Missouri and has lived there ever since. Kelly worked in Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations for a decade and began working in construction and rehabilitating homes that eventually led to getting her real estate license. "I'm a tool belt girl at heart, which is great for my buyers and sellers! It's important to recognize potential problems with a property, especially when you look at long-term value as a purchase or what red flags may arise in trying to sell a home."
Over the last two decades, Kelly has worked with residential and investment property, lake properties and second homes, commercial real estate and has even sold some businesses during her tenure. In 2003, the first-time buyer market was extremely hot and continued to be till the pandemic, but drastic housing price increases and increasing interest rates have unfortunately, made it much more difficult for first time buyers to buy their first home. There are still first-time programs in place to help buyers, but the competition makes it rough in winning a bid. It is so important to have an agent on your side that knows all the ins and outs in winning a bid! At Home Sweet Home Realty, there are not out of pocket fees for buyers! We have the knowledge and access to specialty programs to be able to educate those first timer buyers in this difficult market for buyers.
