Bio
Originally from Westport, Connecticut, Kelly Powers moved to Amelia Island with her husband, Kevin, twin daughters, Pauline & Louise, and a rambunctious German Shorthaired Pointer named Penny, hoping to provide her family with a similar environment to the one she grew up in. Kelly holds a Bachelor’s in Studio Art from Virginia Tech and a Master’s in Fashion Design from Instituto Polimoda in Florence, Italy. After working in the fashion industry in New York, Kelly transitioned into real estate, turning what had been a personal passion into a career helping people find the properties of their dreams.
With her experience growing up in a home built in 1840, as well as renovating her current home from 1879, Kelly is especially interested in historically significant and architecturally distinctive homes. She has previous experience as a real estate investor and designer, overseeing renovations,mixed-use properties, and utilizing historic grants to fund projects, as well as buying and selling properties all over the country.
While she is not from Fernandina Beach, her experience being newer to the area and moving frequently in the past allows Kelly to connect with buyers from out of town, knowing how much it means to be welcoming and guide someone else new to the area with getting settled, things to do and ways to get involved. Kelly is knowledgeable about the local restaurant scene and places that are accommodating to food allergies having to navigate carefully having Celiac Disease and eating a strict gluten-free diet, in addition to her life-threatening allergies to tree nuts and shellfish. But more than anything else, she understands that moving can be as stressful as it is exciting, so whether you’re moving across the street or across the country, Kelly would be honored to guide you through the process of finding the perfect property for you.
Kelly enjoys giving back to the incredible community of Amelia Island through volunteering with the Coalition for the Homeless, a Chamber of Commerce member, giving blood regularly and hosting blood drives with OneBlood, serving on the Promotions Council on the Main Street Fernandina Beach Program, and is a member of the GFWC Woman's Club. She's also a member of the Island Art Association and Plantation Artists' Guild and Gallery. As an avid supporter of the arts, an art collector, and a Realtor®, Kelly enjoys 'artfully uniting extraordinary homes with extraordinary lives.' In her free time, you can find her at the local farmer's market, working out at CrossFit Fernandina, meeting up with friends at one of the many playgrounds in the area with her daughters, or at the pool or beach with her family.
