After being drawn to Lake Placid by the 1980 Winter Olympic Games, Kelly decided to no longer be a visitor, but rather a resident of Lake Placid!
Kelly has over 20 years of experience in real estate, including being a buyer's and seller's agent in the residential market, experience in the commercial market, and as a residential developer.
As a buyer's and seller's agent, Kelly will provide clients with a tailored experience catered towards finding your dream property or representing you in selling your home. In terms of commercial, most recently, Kelly played a crucial role in the successful negotiation and relocation of a nationwide franchise- Subway! With this transaction taking over 2 years to finalize- dedication and determination are clearly two of Kelly's top qualities. In other words, he is working hard till the job is done!
Kelly has also owned a number of commercial businesses in Lake Placid. In the 1980s and '90s, Kelly was the owner of ENCORE, a screen-printing company based in Lake Placid. Kelly was also the owner of everyone's favorite corner store...The Corner Store!
Kelly has also developed a number of residential properties in the Lake Placid area. To date, he has developed 5 residential properties. Kelly has also acquired, "flipped", and sold a waterfront residence on Chateaugay Lake, as well as a townhouse located in the Whiteface Club and Resort. Three of Kelly's residential developments belong to the small number of non-waterfront properties in Lake Placid valued at over 1 million dollars.
A lover of sports, he is an active member of the Lake Placid sports community and has volunteered countless hours in support of youth athletic programs. He is also the former men's hockey and women's soccer coach at Paul Smiths College.
Kelly and his wife, Colleen, a native of Lake Placid, are blessed with 5 children and 5 grandchildren.
Following in her father's footsteps, Jillian, Kelly's youngest child, is also a salesperson at Merrill L. Thomas, Inc! Jillian and Kelly have been known to occasionally join forces on real estate endeavors, including working as a team with clients to provide you with a unique and attentive experience!
