As a founding principal of CRESA Partners w Washington DC Project Management LLC, Kathy Thomas brings to the firm twenty years of experience in the management and execution of tenant interior design, construction and relocation assignments. While with CRESA Partners, she has successfully delivered many projects and continues to consult for a variety of clients in the Washington metropolitan area.
Some of the highlights of Ms. Thomas’ project management career include the delivery of a 134,000 square foot facility for BAE SYSTEMS Mission Solutions in Reston, Virginia, on time and under budget, and the strategic planning and project management of over 70,000 square feet of phased expansion for American Institutes for Research in Washington DC. Acting as the tenant representative for landlord-oriented turnkey projects, Ms. Thomas has provided construction management services to Rothwell, Figg, Ernst & Manbeck in Washington DC and BAE SYSTEMS ESI in Tysons Corner, Virginia. She successfully managed and delivered three different expansion and renovation projects in two different buildings for Caliber in Fairfax, Virginia. Additional projects include a 30,000 square foot build-out for Cordiem in Arlington, Virginia; a 162,000 square foot project for BAE SYSTEMS in Reston, Virginia; the phased renovation of an existing space for BAE SYSTEMS ESI in Tysons Corner, Virginia; and a 17,000 square foot build-out and relocation for The Endocrine Society in Bethesda, Maryland.
Prior to joining CRESA Partners, Ms. Thomas was Vice President of Design for Celeste Hart Interior Architecture and Design, Inc. where she acted as Project Manager and Lead Designer of diverse design projects for law, corporate, retail and multi-residential disciplines. Her client involvement ranged from lease/work letter negotiations and site selections, to design conception, architectural detailing, contractor negotiations, construction administration, furniture procurement and move coordination. Her skills in team building and project coordination allowed her to successfully manage projects in many geographic locations including Colorado Springs, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, Warsaw, Prague, Brussels, Berlin, Budapest and Moscow and the Washington metropolitan area over the course of her tenure.
Ms. Thomas graduated Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design. She is a licensed Interior Designer in the District of Columbia.
