Bio
Kalyn Brandewie is the founding partner of Florida Retail Partners, Tampa Bay’s longest operating woman-owned commercial real estate firm. Her specialization in retail tenant representation and landlord leasing has consistently distinguished her as a top retail broker in the market. With 35 years of real estate experience in the Southeast, Kalyn’s work encompasses all aspects of leasing including landlord and tenant representation and lease/sales business terms negotiation. Since 2007, Florida Retail Partners has been responsible for the retail leasing component of MetWest, a high-profile mixed-use development of over a million square feet owned by MetLife situated directly across from Taubman’s International Plaza. Her success in this project was recognized when she received the 2015 CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) Excellence Award – Retail Lease for the 5,000 s.f. Davidoff flagship store at MetWest.
Kalyn’s extensive experience and knowledge led to her being retained in 2016 to prepare a comprehensive specialty grocery study for Strategic Property Partners, the developers of Water Street, a 15-block mega-development that is reshaping downtown Tampa. A longtime member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the 35-office X-Team Retail Partner Network, Kalyn has served as a planning committee member and speaker for the ICSC’s Florida conferences.
A Tampa resident since 1973, Kalyn and her husband, Richard, raised two sons, Beckett and Benjamin. For sixteen years Kalyn served as a mayoral appointee to the Tampa Sports Authority, the governing board that oversees Raymond James Stadium, Amalie Arena and George Steinbrenner Field – the spring training complex for the New York Yankees.
Kalyn is a native of Michigan and a graduate of Alma College.
