Julie Tysor Taetz has been actively involved in real estate brokerage, management and development throughout the southern United States in varying capacities for The Appelt Company and its numerous affiliates since 1984. Ms. Taetz, a native Houstonian, has coordinated, from both a brokerage and principal standpoint, a broad range of transactions, covering the spectrum of industrial to residential development of raw land, improved industrial transactions, and retail and office leasing. On behalf of The Appelt Company, she serves as President of numerous affiliated corporations functioning in a General Partner capacity to a combined portfolio of approximately 700,000 square feet of retail and office space, and a variety of holdings throughout central Texas and the Texas coast. Her responsibilities include oversight of a full service property and asset management company, development coordination, and general oversight of tens of thousands of acres of land held for development in southeast Texas, and previous sites in Louisiana, Mississippi and southern Alabama. Ms. Taetz contributes a wide array of development, brokerage, and management expertise to the company in her multi-faceted capacity. Julie serves as an independent Co-executor of the Estate of Leslie L. Appelt. In addition to her responsibilities with The Appelt Company, Ms. Taetz also has worked with Colliers International in a brokerage capacity, providing full service brokerage to third party clients in retail, office, and industrial areas. Julie received her BBA in Finance, with a Real Estate emphasis from Texas A&M University (’83), and her law degree from South Texas College of Law (’88). Her professional and civic involvement includes involvement with The Upper Kirby District, the Houston Association of Realtors, The Texas A&M Former Students Association, previously CREW Houston (Commercial Real Estate Women) and the Association of Water Board Directors. She serves as President of Harris County Municipal Utility District 188 (developer district) and as its representative to the Copperfield Joint Operations Board, and as Vice President of the University Place Association, a City of Houston Super-neighborhood Council, on behalf of the Rice Village Commercial ownership. She is a prior member of the Junior League of Houston, a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Alumnae of Houston, attends The Story Houston/St. Lukes United Methodist Church. She is a Lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and a member of the Commercial Exhibits Committee. Julie serves as member of the Board of Directors of Camp For All and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Children’s Learning Institute, UT Health. Julie and her husband, Mike, live in Houston and also enjoy time in La Grange,Texas
