Bio
Jon has a 35+ year history in the commercial construction industry. He grew up in a commercial real estate family, attended Michigan State University for Building Construction Management, and has worked in the industry since.
Before joining the Northstar Commercial team, Jon founded and operated a commercial GC firm in Chicago for 22 years and has completed over 6,000,000 sqft of construction space in his tenure as a GC.
Jon sees beyond a coat of paint and can assess the value of a property beyond its initial appearance; he tends to think outside the box.
“I am often referred to as “Uncle Buck”, as some would say I resemble John Candy. I have resided in Memphis, Nantucket, NYC, and Chicago. At one point I managed the restaurant on the ice rink at Rockefeller Center in NYC… I went ice skating with Chris Farley and other SNL folks. I threw Barbara Walters out of the restaurant on Christmas Eve.
I have a wife named Lisa, a 10-year-old; Lucy and a 5-year-old; Zoey, and a Bouvier named Tucker.”
