Serving as the lead within the Development group at Tailwind, Jon Fahning, Director of Real Estate Development, is a veteran real estate developer, Licensed Broker (MN), and business executive with proven track record within the real estate industry serving in roles within mixed-use land, multi-tenant retail, and single-tenant development. Jon’s focus will be on the project oversight and management while maintaining active involvement in all aspects of the development process. With extensive experience within the entitlement and design of projects scaling from .25 acre to well over 6,000-acres over the last 30+ years, Jon is driven to maintain the overall strategy of the project while looking down field and adapting to changes being seen, while working side-by-side with the project partners and tenants on the execution of their vision and business strategy.
Prior to serving in the role at Tailwind, Jon served as Director of Corporate Real Estate within the financial industry overseeing 200+ office and mixed-use portfolio across the US for one of the top 5 global financial institutions. This followed serving as Senior Vice President of Real Estate for a regional financial institution, overseeing the repositioning of their real estate portfolio, consolidating from 120+ branches to +/-75 branches along with the the site redevelopment and/or construction of over 10 new bank locations within a 5-year period. This experience, which was built from his work within the portfolio development from both a leasing and development perspective for over 25 regional and national tenants within the lifestyle and regional mall environment as part of his support of other retail and development organizations over his 30+ year career has provided a broad level of exposure of project delivery within a diverse group of communities, states, regions, and countries.
