Bio
Johnson Chien, SIOR, CCIM, is a managing director of industrial services in the City of Industry office of Newmark, where he specializes in providing sales and leasing services to owners, developers and investors of industrial and commercial real estate on a local, regional and national level, as well as to clients and investors from the Pacific Rim. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Mr. Chien is crucial to Newmark's efforts to grow its business as more Chinese investors enter the region.
Mr. Chien is also an experienced international commercial real estate valuation consultant for multinational corporations with property holdings located throughout Asia and North America. Mr. Chien also works extensively with REITs and institutional investors in performing pre- and post- acquisition analyses on real estate portfolios for financial reporting purposes. Collectively, Mr. Chien has been involved in transactions with an aggregate value of more than $15 billion.
Prior to joining Newmark, Mr. Chien was a senior valuation specialist at Colliers International Valuation & Advisory Services. He began in that position after a stint at Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP, where he was an elite commercial real estate senior consultant. Before that, Mr. Chien was a senior associate in the commercial real estate group of Duff & Phelps LLC.
Mr. Chien attended the University of Southern California, where he studied business administration and real estate finance.
