He is very active in community service, serving on a number of boards. Mr. Tecklenburg is happily married and has five children.John focuses on commercial sales and leasing in the tri-county area. He has significant experience assembling tracts of land and negotiating complex deals for clients. Out of the box thinking and existing relationships allow Mr. Tecklenburg to advise his clients in a way few others in the area can. Prior to joining Clement, Crawford & Thornhill, Mr. Tecklenburg owned and ran Southern Oil Company in Charleston for 15 years before selling the business. He was then Director of Economic Development for the City of Charleston in the late 1990’s and managed Senator Hollings’ successful re-election campaign in 1998. He then developed Tecklenburg Market & Cafe on Daniel Island and operated a retail business there.
