John Potts earned his real estate license 34 years ago in 1983. John began his career with Transamerican Management as an office and retail salesperson. After 3 years he moved to Philadelphia where had the opportunity to move into development of shopping centers securing anchor tenants for the projects. In 1989, John returned to Wichita where he spent the next six years in corporate real estate with Rent A Center. During this time, he was responsible for 100 new stores, worked renewals, construction and relocation for over 350 stores throughout 13 states up and down the eastern seaboard. When Rent A Center sold, John joined Rentway where he was the Western Regional Director of Real Estate. While at Rentway he is responsible for 47 new stores, coordinated and managed the construction with outside contractors and vendors. In 2003, Rentway ceased business and John opened his own brokerage, Eaglecreek Realty Services. For the next 7 years John represented tenants across the United States. He was a national consultant for easyhome RTO, Mr. Goodcents Subs, Advance America, Aaron Rents, We the People Document Preparation, Dollar Services and Family Video. In 2011 John joined a local company, RedGuard, part of the LANGE organization. RedGuard is a modular builder of blast resistant buildings for the oil, gas and chemical industry. He coordinated all documents, negotiated contracts on a world basis with some of the world’s largest companies, Exxon Mobile, Chevron, Lyondell Basel, Shell Oil, Marathon and Eastman Chemicals to name a few. Due to RedGuard’s fast growing business, John was brought back into corporate real estate and development with LANGE. At LANGE he was responsible for all corporate real estate expansion. In 2013 LANGE entered into industrial development in Wichita where he was instrumental in securing $34 million in Industrial Revenue Bonds for a 54-acre, 650,000 square foot development in southwest Wichita called Ironhorse Manufacturing Park. John assisted and coordinated all of the entitlement phase of the park working with all of the contractors, engineers and architects. John proudly supports his alma mater Wichita State University where he graduated in 1974. John is a member of the 1970 Wichita State Football Team where he earned a full ride scholarship and was voted to the 1972 All Missouri Valley Conference First Team. He is a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council 3114 Clonmel, Schulte. He and his family are parishioners at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Schulte. He is a member of the Blueprint for Regional Growth, Wichita Transportation Sub-Committee and International Council of Shopping Centers. John and Debbie have been married 44 years. They have 3 grown children, 3 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
