John Montagna co-founded Tri State Commercial, Inc. in 1995 and is a Principal in the firm. John has over twenty years of experience in retail/commercial brokerage. Prior to joining Tri State, he spent seven years as a Vice President at Remax Commercial. His expertise includes tenant representation for retailers; land acquisition for retailers and retail developers; anchor tenant leasing; landlord representation and trade area analysis. John has been responsible for numerous high-profile New Jersey retail transactions, including the sale of nearly 40 acres to Benderson Development in Hamilton Township, New Jersey, the sale of 58 +/- acres in Freehold, New Jersey to Developers Diversified Realty which consists of a Wal Mart and Sam’s Club along with 200,000 additional square feet. John has completed over 40 leases and sales with Drug Store Chains including CVS, Eckerd Drug and Former Thrift Drug, Rite Aid, and Drug Fair. Other tenant representation assignments are highlighted by retailers such as PC Richard + Son, Jenny Craig Weight Loss Centers, Golf Day, Woodworkers Warehouse, disposition of Stop + Shop/Mayfair Supermarkets properties. John is one of the most active retail brokers in the New Jersey market having sold hundreds of acres of retail land in New Jersey in numerous transactions, and completed over 875 lease and sale transactions.
