Bio
John Koga is currently Senior Vice President - Planning & Design in the Office Properties division of the Irvine Company. In this role, John is responsible to lead the design and re-positioning efforts for 46 million SF of office portfolio located mostly within the coastal communities of California - Orange County, San Diego County, and Silicon Valley. John also looks after the design and repositioning of Irvine Company’s high rise portfolio in Chicago and New York City.
Prior to joining the Irvine Company, John lead the Orange County office of M Moser Associates, an international corporate interior and architecture design practice headquartered in Hong Kong. Prior to M Moser, John was involved in the design and planning of premier hospitality and gaming projects located in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and Asia.
Before moving to California in 2004, John and his family lived in New York City for 20 years. While in New York City, John worked 18 years at the internationally renowned architectural firm of Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF), as a Senior Associate Principal. John was involved in many of the world's tallest skyscrapers, most notably the Shanghai World Financial Center in Shanghai. His expertise in skyscrapers lead to his interview for ‘Superstructures Around the World’, a special feature on the Learning Channel featuring the mega-project - Nagoya Station Building. His tenure at KPF took him to over 25 countries around the world. John received a Bachelors of Architecture degree from Cornell University and a Masters of Architecture degree from Harvard University.
